The short version
- CBAT Academy is independent. It is not connected to any armed force, government or test provider.
- Every score, stanine and readiness estimate is an unofficial training estimate. Nothing here guarantees a test result or selection.
- Requirement figures marked “reported” come from candidates, not from any armed force, and may be wrong or out of date.
- Monthly and 3-month plans renew automatically until you cancel. Permanent Access is a single payment.
- You must be 16 or older to use an account.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
CBAT Academy is an independent aptitude-training service operated from Canada (“CBAT Academy”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply to the website at cbat-academy.com and the CBAT Academy iOS app (together, the “service”). By creating an account, buying access or using the service, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Independence and non-affiliation
CBAT Academy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Department of National Defence, the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy, the UK Ministry of Defence, the Australian Defence Force, the Australian Department of Defence, or any other government organization or armed force. It is also not affiliated with ADAPT, COMPASS, Aon/cut-e, PILAPT or any other commercial assessment provider.
All exercises, graphics, interactions, scoring methods and software in the service are developed independently for training. They do not reproduce any official test, official question bank or official scoring software.
3. Unofficial results and reported requirements
All scores, stanines, readiness estimates, module mappings and role estimates in the service are unofficial training estimates. CBAT Academy designed its own scoring system; it is not based on any official scoring method, and official scoring algorithms, thresholds and decisions belong to the organizations that run the real assessments.
Role requirement figures labelled “reported” (for RAF, Royal Navy and CFAST roles) are candidate-reported. They come from an independent candidate guide and from score images that candidates have shared online. They have not been verified, may be incomplete or out of date, and are not published or endorsed by any armed force. Australian Defence Force figures are CBAT Academy’s own preparation targets, not requirements.
Using the service does not guarantee any test score, selection outcome, job offer or training place. The service is training material, not recruitment or career advice. Official joining instructions, recruiters and test administrators always take priority over anything in the service.
4. Who can use the service
- You must be at least 16 years old to create or use an account.
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only buy access with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you.
- An account is for one person. Do not share your sign-in or let anyone else use your access.
- Keep your password secure and your email address current. You are responsible for activity on your account.
5. Free use, plans and payment on the website
- Free accounts can practise on the free module set. What is included for free may change.
- 1 Month and 3 Months are subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you bought them plus any applicable tax, until you cancel. Cancel any time from your Account page: you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Permanent Access is a single payment with nothing to renew or cancel. It gives access for as long as CBAT Academy operates the service. If we ever close the service, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email or account message.
- Payments on the website are processed by Stripe. CBAT Academy does not receive your full card number. The price and currency are shown at checkout.
- If we change the price of a subscription, we will tell you before the new price applies, and it applies only from a later renewal. You can cancel before then.
- Access codes from an administrator give the access stated with the code. They have no cash value and cannot be sold.
- Donations are voluntary. They do not buy access and are not refundable, except where the law requires.
6. Purchases in the iOS app
Purchases in the app are made through Apple’s App Store and charged to your Apple ID. App Store subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. Apple handles billing and refunds for App Store purchases, so ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com; CBAT Academy cannot issue refunds for them.
Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app. For the app:
- These terms are between you and CBAT Academy, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the app’s purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, privacy, or intellectual property claims.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms as they relate to the app, and may enforce them against you.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Access starts as soon as you buy it. Website purchases are not refundable once access has started, except where this section or the law says otherwise. If something has gone wrong, such as a duplicate charge or access that did not unlock, contact us and we will put it right.
- UK, EU and EEA consumers: you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. When you buy, you ask for access to start straight away and you acknowledge that you lose that cancellation right once access has started.
- Australian consumers: our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure with the service, you are entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
- Everyone: nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the consumer protection law where you live, including in Quebec and the rest of Canada.
8. Using the service fairly
The service is for your own, personal, non-commercial training. You must not:
- share, sell or transfer your account or access;
- copy, record, scrape or republish the exercises, questions, graphics or other content;
- use bots or automation, get around access limits, or interfere with or disrupt the service;
- reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
- try to access another person’s account or data;
- send unlawful, abusive or harassing messages through the contact form or account messages; or
- present CBAT Academy results as official scores.
9. Our content and your licence
The service, including its exercises, questions, graphics, software, text, and the CBAT Academy name and logo, belongs to CBAT Academy or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own training under these terms. It ends if your account ends. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
10. Trademarks and rights-holder concerns
Names of armed forces, services, roles, tests and assessment providers belong to their owners. They are used only to describe what users may be preparing for, and their use does not mean any owner endorses CBAT Academy. If you believe something in the service infringes your rights, tell us through the contact page, with enough detail for us to find it. We will review it promptly and remove or change material where appropriate.
11. Changes to the service and availability
We may add, change or remove modules and features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems outside our control. If a change significantly reduces the paid features you are using during a period you have already paid for on the website, contact us and we will refund the unused part of that period.
12. Health and safety
Some exercises are timed and use moving or flashing graphics. Take regular breaks. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or another condition that could be affected, check with a doctor before using the service.
13. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that estimates or reported figures are accurate, or that the service will help you reach a particular result.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, CBAT Academy is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities (including selection outcomes), lost data or lost profits. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and CA$50.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU consumer law, the Australian Consumer Law, and Canadian provincial consumer protection law, including Quebec’s.
15. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time from your Account settings on the website or in the app. Deleting it ends your access straight away and cancels any website subscription, with no refund for the rest of the period except where the law requires.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel that in your Apple ID settings.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, where the law requires it, or to protect the service or other users. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why first.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Canadian province in which CBAT Academy is operated and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be heard by the courts of that province. If you are a consumer, this does not take away your right to rely on the mandatory consumer protection law of the place where you live, or to bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows it. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here. If a change materially affects paid access, we will tell you by email or account message at least 14 days before it applies, and for a subscription it will apply from your next renewal. If you do not agree to a change, you can cancel or delete your account before it applies.
18. General
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and, for the app, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement are the whole agreement between you and CBAT Academy about the service.
- If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer these terms to another organization that takes over the service, such as a company formed to operate CBAT Academy. We will tell you if this happens, and it will not reduce your rights.
19. Contact
Questions about these terms, billing or your account can be sent through the contact page.
