What the test trains
This module focuses on workload management, instruction-following under competing demands and divided attention across four concurrent streams. It is designed to make the underlying process easier to recognise, repeat and review before you add more speed or workload.

- Continuously stabilise a drifting flight cursor through a corridor, the same underlying control skill as Control Stabilization.
- Monitor a four-gauge status HUD and acknowledge only genuine alerts.
- Answer short typed prompts on an information HUD before their response deadline.
- Obey periodic “priority instruction” banners that override the normal rules — for example, temporarily ignoring information prompts — even when that conflicts with the default response.

Control the flight cursor with a joystick, gamepad, arrow keys, or the mouse while acknowledging monitor alerts and answering information prompts with the keyboard or a click.
How the Academy version works
Each exercise has its own questions, graphics, timing and scoring, generated fresh for every attempt. The instruction screen explains the current workload before you launch, so nothing about the task or its rules is a surprise once the timer starts.

Each of the five workload stages shortens the interval between monitor and information events and raises disturbance magnitude as difficulty increases, before easing off in the final recovery stage.
How scoring works
The result reflects performance in this Academy module. Accuracy is the main signal for decision tasks, while timing, missed targets, false responses or control error can also contribute where the task requires them. Assessment mode is more suitable for trend comparisons than adjustable practice runs.

Why this becomes difficult
- Four demand streams run simultaneously, not two.
- Priority instructions require actively overriding your default response, not just adding another task.
- The scripted workload ramps up through the session and only eases off at the end, so fatigue and peak demand coincide.
- Protecting the flight-control task while also handling the other three is the core skill being tested.
Preparation tips
- Treat the flight-control task as the one that must never be fully abandoned, since it runs continuously in the background of everything else.
- When a priority instruction appears, consciously confirm what it changes before continuing, rather than assuming the default rules still apply.
- Use the five-stage structure (orientation, standard, elevated, high, recovery) to pace yourself — expect the hardest stretch in the middle-to-late stages, with room to recover at the end.
- Work through the guided tutorial fully before a scored run, since it introduces each HUD element one at a time.
Common mistakes
- Letting flight control drift while attention is absorbed by the other three streams.
- Following the default rule instead of the priority instruction currently in force.
- Treating every stage as equally demanding instead of pacing effort to the scripted ramp.
- Abandoning one stream entirely instead of triaging attention across all four.

- Master Control Stabilization on its own first, since flight control here is the same underlying skill with three more demands layered on top.
- Practise noticing and acting on priority instructions specifically, since they are the most distinctive failure mode in this module.
- Work through the tutorial’s progressive HUD introduction more than once if the full combined session feels overwhelming at first.
