The 3D flight scenes and landscapes are drawn natively on the device. Trace Test 1 keeps the website’s camera, flight paths and aircraft sizes, with four large buttons in place of the arrow keys.

The CBAT Academy app puts 22 RAF CBAT and CFAST modules on your iPhone or iPad. Sign in with your website account and every assessment syncs both ways, so a run on the bus shows up in your dashboard at home.

Instrument Comprehension
The dials and aircraft views are redrawn from the website’s drawings and laid out in a grid sized to your screen.

Each update is read aloud by iOS speech while you study, then the question and its answers take over the screen for recall.

Your progress follows you between phone and computer
After every run
The results screen shows your score, how it compares with your last attempt and an answer summary that sets what you gave against the correct answer for each question. Where the module has one, a “What to work on” review explains why your mistakes trip people up and what to do differently next time.
The History tab lists your assessments from both the app and the website. Each run opens to its score, correct count and, where available, an estimated stanine, followed by the questions you answered.
What’s still on the website
- Full mock tests, the preparation plan builder and the per-run performance review.
- Commercial Pilot Prep. The app is built for the military track, and commercial runs stay on the website.
- Rapid Tracking, Rapid Tracking II, Sensory Motor and Auditory Capacity. These need a mouse, keyboard or joystick, so they aren’t planned for phones.
Requirements
- An iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later.
- A CBAT Academy account, which you can create free in the app or on the website.
- An internet connection to sign in and sync. Runs themselves work offline.
